Preschool

Created4Me Early Learning Centre is licensed as a Preschool by Manitoba Family Services & Housing. Our centre is licensed according to "Best Practices" as set out by the Manitoba Child Care Association. We are currently licensed to accommodate four (4) infants (ages newborn to 24mth), and 24 preschool (ages 24 months to 6 years) children.

Our facility has undergone extensive renovations during the summer. Opening in September 2008, Created4Me will provide warm, caring, nurturing, and inclusive environment for every child and his/her family. At our centre we promote the individual development of each child, encourage the socialization of every child and provide developmentally appropriate group experiences in a child-centered environment.

The Created4Me classroom is a prepared learning environment created by trained teachers who follow an educational philosophy.

Calm, caring teachers guide the children in the exploration and manipulation of classroom equipment. Individualized learning and independent choice-making, based on the child's inner needs and developmental level, are encouraged by the teachers. Respect for the child and the child's work is an integral part of the classroom. In this child-centred approach to learning, children work side by side on activities they choose, developing social skills, self-confidence, concentration, and a love of learning.

The Created4Me classroom is a child-sized world where whatever is in the world outside can be brought into the classroom. The classroom is set up with materials designed to stimulate independent exploration. This prepared environment entices the child to proceed at their own pace, from simple activities to complex ones. Through this process the child's natural curiosity is satisfied and they begin to experience the joy of discovery. Materials and curriculum centre around the learning areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Geography, Science, Art, and Music.
